Correction of body posture


According to the principles of Taijiwuxigong, practitioners should investigate how they can make contact with the earth. As the student gets closer to the way which suits him best, the upward earth force will manifest more and more in the body. This earth force helps to activate the Dantian. The ‘Dantian’ refers to the energy centre in the lower abdomen and is the engine of the spontaneous movement. This spontaneous movement helps the practitioner to stretch the back in a natural way by opening the intervertebral spaces. This corrects the body posture of the practitioner. His height can even increase by several centimetres.

The opening of the back improves the throughput of body fluids in the spine. Accumulated waste products can be removed and nutrition can reach the spine. For this reason, the back becomes stronger.

Nerves go from the spine to the different organs. A narrowing of the intervertebral space can irritate one or more nerves and cause problems in the corresponding organ(s). In the same way the stretching and opening of the back can have a positive effect on complaints in the organs, e.g. stomach, intestine, lungs. Weakened organs have improved control and nutrition by which they have the chance to function in a normal way.

Medicine is not able to correct a bad body posture. Medicine can help suppress symptoms, but can not cure health problems that stem from a bad body posture. The medical field is increasingly becoming aware of the importance of exercises for curing illnesses and their symptoms. Nevertheless there are few that use the principle of bad body posture and problems with the spine to explain the symptoms. With help from Taijiwuxigong theory and its exercises, these problems can be treated and cured at their roots.
